# timer.ly

> Countdowns and count-ups from a URL. Open a link, see how long until

What you can do with timer.ly:

- **Count down to a date** — share a link like
  `timer.ly/to/christmas` or `timer.ly/at/2026-12-31T23:59` and the
  recipient opens a live countdown.
- **Count up since a past date** — `timer.ly/since/2020-03-11` for
  "days since pandemic was declared," birthdays, anniversaries, sober-since.
- **Run a duration timer** — `timer.ly/in/25m` for a 25-minute timer,
  `timer.ly/in/2h30m` for an exam, `timer.ly/in/10s` for a quick test.
  Optional desktop notification when the timer ends.
- **Browse holiday calendars** — every UK bank holiday, US federal
  holiday, German Feiertag (16 Bundesländer), French jour férié,
  Spanish festivo, and Italian festività for the next 12 months.
  Each holiday opens its own dedicated countdown page with sources.
- **Pick a predefined countdown** — quick-pick tiles for round
  durations (10 s, 60 s, 5 min, 10 min, 45 min), upcoming weekdays
  ("until next Monday"), and the next bank holiday.
- **Switch language** — every page exists in five locales with native
  URL slugs (e.g. `/de/bis/weihnachten`, `/fr/jusqu/noel`).

Every page is self-contained and computed from the URL alone — no
account, no saved state, share or bookmark a link and it just works.
